Giveaway terms and conditions

Please read the terms and conditions carefully. By entering into this giveaway, you agree that you have read these terms and that you agree to them.

 

1. Eligibility criteria

1.1 To enter the giveaway you must:

  • be a resident of the United Kingdom

  • be aged 18 years or older at the time of entry

  • have a UK address where we can send the prize.

1.2 No purchase is necessary to enter the giveaway.​

​

1.3 You can enter this giveaway:

  • by joining the Readers Club.

​

1.4 No responsibility can be accepted for entries not received for whatever reason.​

​

1.5 All personal data submitted by entrants is subject to and will be treated in a manner consistent with our Privacy Policy.

2. Giveaway dates

2.1 The giveaway is open for entries between 9 am GMT on 01/12/2024 and 11:59 pm GMT on 01/12/2024.​

​

3. Prize

3.1 The prize consists of a signed copy of Mystery in the Palace of Westminster (ISBN 9781739773601) and a signed copy of Body in the Thames (ISBN 9781739773625), plus a series postcard.

3.2 We reserve the right to cancel or amend these Terms and Conditions or change the prize (to one of equal or greater value) as required by the circumstances. No cash equivalent to the prize is available.

4. Winning entry

4.1 There will be one winner. The winner will be chosen by random selection. Any decision will be final and binding and no further communications will be entered into in relation to it.

4.2 The winner shall be notified by email within 5 working days of the closing date.

​

4.3 The winner will be required to confirm acceptance of the prize within 7 working days and may be required to complete and return an eligibility form stating their age and residency details, among other details. The winner must provide a UK address for the purpose of sending them the prize. We will endeavour to ensure that the winner receives their prize within 30 days of the date they confirm acceptance of the prize. If a winner does not accept the prize within 7 days of being notified, they will forfeit their prize and we reserve the right to choose another winner. Our decision is final and we reserve the right not to correspond on any matter.

4.4 The winner’s surname and county can be obtained by sending a stamped addressed envelope to Sarah Lustig, Unit 92893, PO Box 6945, London, W1A 6US, 30 days after the closing date. If you object to any or all of your surname and/or county being made available, please inform us using these contact details. In such circumstances, we must still provide the information and winning entry to the Advertising Standards Authority if requested to do so.

 

5. Governing law

5.1 These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with English law. Disputes arising in connection with this giveaway shall be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
